Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is followed by the street that reaches out on the whole of the Gulf of Amalfi and that reaches from the peninsula of Sorrent to Salerno. It is, maybe, the part of the coast in the whole of Campania where the settlements perfectly harmonise mit the beauty of the landscape: the range of the Monti Lattari (Lattari mountains) lies directly on the sea and forms an indented coast line with many outreaching cliffs and coves.
Cilento Coast

Medieval villages, crystalline sea, cliffs mould by the wind and sun, soft and sunny beaches interrupted by promontories and crags, coves and grottoes of savage and suggestive beauty, the unblemished nature of the National Park of the Cilento and Diano Valley: this is the Cilento area.
Umbria

Perhaps it is the evocative nature of the place, or a certain enchanted air (we might almost say “mystic”) that you breathe to some extent everywhere, but sooner or later whoever visits Umbria ends up thinking: Saint Francis, that great, gentle, tender and poetic Saint of happiness and meekness could only have been born here in Umbria.
Farmhouse “La Rocca”
Our Restaurant La Rocca will welcome you with a panoramic air-conditioned porch, where you can have a wonderful view on the surrounding landscape, with the valley leading to Siena, and the Cetona mount in the background. In summer the restaurant offers some seats in the garden, among olive trees and jasmine flowers, and on a terrace overlooking the valley and the hills by Bardano.
We are particularly interested in typical Umbrian dishes, like the barbeque meat, but we also propose some “Digressions” with fish for our special gourmands. Our kitchen is daily supplied with fresh, genuine products, directly from our farm. Our kitchen garden follows the different seasons with fresh vegetables: salad, tomatoes, potatoes, as well as turnip tops, chicory, spinaches and chards. In summer you’ll find fresh cherries, plums, peaches from our orchard; they are used also in order to prepare tasty marmalades. Poultry breeding assures always fresh chickens, rabbits, hens and geese, as well as fresh eggs, which are used to make cakes, biscuits and tarts for your breakfast. Our kitchen uses only virgin olive oil produced in the farm, and on the wine card you’ll find also wines from our winery Altarocca.
Castel Rubello
Castel Rubello is situated on a hillock, a few kilometres south of Orvieto, close toPorano.
Its construction stems from traffic-control reasons, as the castle overlooks the ancient Via Cassia, which was therefore dominated by its walls and, in particular, by its main 40-metre-high tower, the so-called “Maschio”.
There are no certain dates related to its foundation, due to its name changing throughout the time and to the lack of archive documents, before 1200; however, judging by the state of the walls as well as by its architectural elements, it can be approximately estimated that the castle dates back to the 12th century. In the “Piviere di San Fortunato” (an old version of the current land register), Carpenter (pg 6 and on) individuated, with absolute certainty, the original chore of “Villa Podii”, which is nowadays a tiny, enclosed village, together with “Villa Porrani” and “Villa Canale”. The same structure can also be found under the name of Castel Ribello (as Ceccarelli called it, pg. 18) as well as in the 1297 parish land register, with reference to the tithe payments (Sella, pgs 801-916).
Later on, the Castle became a possession of the Monaldeschi family, who took refuge there in 1345, before gaining the entrance to the city of Orvieto, of which they previously were the Lords (Fumi, 1884, pg. 501). The Castle remained a shelter for exiles until 1420, when the Pope Martino V allowed special privileges to the inhabitants of Castel Rubello and Porano, including the exemption from paying the ” heads and acres tax, as a reward for the damages suffered under the war” (Fumi, 1884, pg. 677).
The Monaldeschi family re-gained possession of Orvieto in 1437, thanks to Gentile della Sala (Gentile Monaldeschi della Vipera) who, in agreement with Pietro Ramponi, the Civical Rector of the Patrimony, entered in in Orvieto with Ugolino da Montemarte, Ranuccio da Castel di Piero as well as other “Mercorini”, slaughtering the members of the opposing faction, the “Muffati”. As a result of this battle, over 60 people died and numerous houses were burnt.
Ristorante “Zeppelin”
The Restaurant Zeppelin is located in the historic centre of Orvieto, a few paths away from the Communal Palazzo and from the Cathedral and close to the exit of the escalators which from the parking to “Campo della Fiera” are taking to the city.
The spirit of the restaurant, the originality of our recipes and the tight contact between the chef Lorenzo and the guests are making so that the stop at the Zeppelin restaurant is an unforgettable moment of conviviality and deserved pause from the too many stresses of the life of nowadays.

Palazzo Belmonte is the perfect place for a wedding or other special event. Nothing can equal the ambience and glorious views from the Palazzo. On the clearest days the islands of Capri and Ischia seem to shimmer on the horizon, floating on an azure sea. In the evening, after the sun has lazily set, the star filled sky is a perfect canopy for the Belvedere restaurant. Capri’s twinkling lights flicker on the horizon as the waves lap on the shore below. The entire Palazzo can be reserved with sufficient notice or, if you are planning a smaller event, certain areas of the Palazzo and the gardens can be set aside for private use. Romantic ceremonies, religious or civil, can be celebrated in the family chapel, outdoors in the flower- filled courtyard or in the gardens. A beach wedding, or a service on the islet of Licosa with its lighthouse, are possible alternatives for a celebration.
Castello di Licosa
The private island of Licosa, with Castello di Licosa on the opposite shore, is a very special part of the Belmonte estate. With pinewoods as a backdrop, the house’s quayside and lighthouse mark the home of the legendary Sirens. Castello di Licosa is the Prince’s most exclusive location for a wedding or other celebration, with the sea on two sides of the house, the family chapel alongside the terrace, and Roman ruins in the pool-side gardens. This is one of the most romantic venues in the whole of southern Italy. The Palazzo’s wedding and events planner will be pleased to help you in organising all types of private events, to the highest standard. Our aim is to create the perfect day for both hosts and their guests, bringing together the best food and wine with attentive and discreet service. Security at the Palazzo and at Castello di Licosa is of utmost importance to guests. High walls surround the Palazzo and its gardens, while the gatehouse attendants at the entrance to the Punta Licosa estate will ensure a private occasion. For those cruising by yacht along the western coast of Italy, Punta Licosa is the perfect place to anchor and hold a big party on the shore at the Castello.
